Merpati Nusantara Airlines Going to Sale

SOE Minister Decide Sell Merpati Nusantara Airlines

Minister of State Owned Enterprises of Indonesia, Dahlan Iskan has finally agreed to sell the Merpati Nusantara Airlines due to the increasingly difficult business conditions and not allow it to be continued.

Dahlan said the corporation Merpati has been very difficult, because it decided to sell. However, Dahlan did not disclose the sale price Merpati. It just says investors interested in buying can submit a proposal to the Ministry of Enterprise and given up to two months from now.

But, according to Mr. Dahlan, Merpati can still be maintained, if not as airlines company, but other business has prospects. "There are other options, Merpati do not have to fly, but doing other side flight business. He has a maintenance facility, it is good assets, that it can be used. That can help prevent liquidation, "Dahlan said.

Merpati currently has a debt of IDR 6 trillion. Merpati plans to pay off this debt in June with the conversion of debt into equity schemes. However, it seems these efforts will not succeed.
